Job Description

The General Clerk I is responsible for following clearly detailed specific procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence.

Job Duties:

• Codes and files documents in an extensive alphabetical file.

• Posts to individual accounts.

• Opens mail.

• Calculates and posts charges to departmental accounts.

• Operates basic office equipment, e.g., photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, mail machines, and minimal computer programs. • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required.

• Little to no subject-matter knowledge is required.

• Must use his or her own judgement in choosing the proper procedure for each task.
