Virtual Testing Information:
Candidates must take the mandatory written examination the week of June 10th, 2024.
The exam will be administered virtually during business hours – no nights or weekend dates/times will be offered. It is your responsibility to ensure that you can test during these times. Exact dates/times for the exam will be released at a later date.

Job Requirements
Firefighter/Paramedic Minimum Requirements:

U.S. Citizen
At least 21 years of age by the date of application deadline and not older than 35 by date of appointment, unless exempt by statute
No felony convictions
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Possess a valid driver's license
Present a valid CPAT with Ladder Climb – [No more than 12 months old] by date of application deadline. Must be dated 5/10/2023 – 5/10/2024. Must also be valid at the date of conditional offer of employment.
Possess a valid IDPH Paramedic license (EMT-P) due at time of hire.
-Candidates may be required to show proof of enrollment in a paramedic program or a letter of status and good standing to the Department at a later date.
