Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
Assembles, checks, calibrates electrical and electronic components, control panels and other devices using mechanical/ electrical circuits and machinery.
Assist in resolution of warranty problems to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform TIG welding, grinding, blueprint reading, and work planning as capable.
Can assist in customer factory acceptance testing as needed.
Relay requests for parts as required for work orders.
Responsible for ensuring all test equipment is kept in good order and in calibration.
Arrange travels, airfare, and rental cars… reconciling expenses reports timely.
Plan for, organize and coordinate jobs to maximize efficiencies through strong communication with the support team.
Work closely with customer personnel on or off site as needed regarding assembly and inspection of product.
Build and maintain sound business relationships and good public relations with customers to ensure their continued and/or increased business.
Establish contacts and relationships with customers in order to build/ maintain customer database.
Keep Supervisor advised of any quality problems, concerns, delays, etc.
Check completed work and perform rework as required to ensure completeness and compliance with established specifications.
Performs and/or directs specified testing of controls as required.
Inspect product at regular intervals and complete all necessary paperwork and documentation regarding assembly and inspection records and procedures.
Assist the Aftermarket team by actively seeking new opportunities for spare parts, service, retrofits, etc.
Advise Supervisor of any maintenance work/ upgrade opportunities.
Maintain an orderly and safe work environment.
Follows established safety procedures and policies at all times.
Suggest methods improvements or alternate methods and materials to reduce cost and/or improve quality.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in the field and helps find and implement solutions.
Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, etc.):
Requires Associate Degree in a technical discipline or two (2) or more years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must possess at least 25% of the following competencies and display the ability to build on the remaining. Strong electrical skills including reading, interpreting blueprint drawings, field wiring, panel modifications and most important logical fault finding. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, procedures and tools. Demonstrates ability to read, interpret and apply weld symbols and procedures. Experience with pharmaceutical or biomedical equipment manufacturing or design. Works under minimal supervision. Basic knowledge of PLC systems an advanced, basic mechanical construction, instrumentation for electrical and HVAC application is preferred. Currently possess or able to obtain a valid driver’s license, passport and major credit card. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Ability to travel extensively domestic and internationally. Strong Customer Service oriented personality.
