Job Description

Iowa Western Community College is currently seeking a Service and Operations Manager to join our exciting and student-focused team at our beautiful SW Iowa Campus, in Council Bluffs Iowa. This position reports to the Director of the Wellness Center. The Service and Operations Manager provides quality front-line customer service to students, employees, and visitors in the Marshall Wellness Center; provides general clerical and office support for the Center, oversees the front desk with answering phone calls, responding to emails, and answering general questions for students and employees, including training and assisting in the management of student and part-time desk workers, for the Marshall Wellness Center, a new 92,000-square foot multi-use fitness and recreation facility opening on campus in summer 2019 that features state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, basketball and volleyball courts, and a 90-yard indoor field turf.
Qualifications: This position requires an Associate's degree and a current CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (or obtained within 60 days of hire), experience in a customer service related field, a commitment to delivering first-rate customer service and exceptional support on a daily basis, and strong organizational and management skills is required.

Hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m to 5:30 p.m. Offering $15.38/hr.
Additional qualifications include occasional lifting of 10 lbs., Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and diffuse angry people, ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use a phone, and some travel, including by vehicle, may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, ability work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high-degree of interpersonal skills while thriving in a fast-paced environment is preferred. Hiring process includes an ability to pass a background check.
