As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CFO ensures financial stability, drives growth, and navigates the complexities of the nonprofit sector. Their expertise is crucial in advancing financial strategies, optimizing resources, and ensuring fiscal stewardship, all in alignment with LMM’s mission, vision, and values.

Some of the duties include:

Develop and implement policies to streamline workflows, improve efficiencies, and maintain regulatory compliance

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the senior leadership and the Board of Directors

Optimize resource allocation, identify cost-saving opportunities, and assess program profitability to ensure financial sustainability

Manage cash flow forecasting, investment strategies, and debt management

Oversee the management of fixed assets and ensure proper capitalization policies are applied

Identify and mitigate financial risks, including regulatory compliance, revenue fluctuations, and external market changes

Work with external auditors, investment managers, and funding sources to ensure compliance and transparent reporting

Develop and maintain investment policies, and oversee investment performance in collaboration with the Finance Committee

Provide leadership to the Accounting and Information Technology departments, ensuring succession planning and staff development

Collaborate with senior leadership, Directors, and stakeholders to support decision-making and align financial initiatives with organizational goals

Act as a financial advisor to the CEO and the Board of Directors, presenting updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in financial leadership, with at least 8 years of high-level accounting experience and 5 years in a senior management role, preferably within a nonprofit or public accounting environment. They are well-versed in nonprofit finance, GAAP, and regulatory compliance, and bring a keen ability to analyze complex financial data to drive strategic decision-making. A Master’s degree and CPA certification are preferred, along with demonstrated experience in risk management, budgeting, forecasting, and optimizing resources. Above all, they embody high ethical standards, ensuring financial transparency, integrity, and alignment with LMM’s mission to serve the community.
