COATINGS TECHNICIAN

Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Secret
Key Responsibilities:
·Prepare samples under
the guidance of a chemist or Technical manager and assist in testing said
formulations or finished products, raw materials or associated items that
contain hazardous chemicals in a safe and clean environment.
·Essential duties
will also include presenting accurate and consistent results in a timely
fashion.
·Assists the professional technical
staff and senior technicians in research, design, development, testing or
manufacturing process improvements to enhance EVC's operating efficiency and
effectiveness of the staff and to achieve contractual requirements.

Essential
Functions:
Assists the professional technical staff
and senior technicians in research, design, development, testing or
manufacturing process which includes, but is not limited to, the following:
·Programs, operates,
maintains and repairs a variety of laboratory test equipment and machinery.
·Conducts a variety
of experiments and testing, such as mechanical, electronic or electrical, using
established methods.
·May prepare test
specimens and perform sample preparation and metallographic examination of
diverse materials using equipment such as the light optical and scanning
electron microscopy.
·Extracts, compiles
and computes engineering data after thorough test analysis, and presents the
data in prescribed form.

Minimum
Physical Requirements:
·Regularly or
frequently talking, hearing, touching, grasping, standing, walking, reaching
with hands/arms and performing repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement.
·Light work exerting
up to 20 pounds of force.
·Clarity of vision at
20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision, ability to identify and
distinguish colors, and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp
focus to review test results, perform testing of CSTRS, install strain gage,
view PC screen, read technical manuals, calibration of machines and equipment,
adjust equipment, use measuring devices, microscopes, etc.

Desired Education:
·High School Diploma
or Equivalent
Desired Degree:
·Associate’s Degree
in Chemistry or Science related field

Desired Job Experience:
·1 or 2 years’ lab
experience preferred.
·Skill in using a
variety of standard tools.
