CTC is
seeking an Energy Storage Systems Engineer to support Department of Defense
clients with a portfolio focused delivery of energy security/resiliency
projects, leveraging private-sector resources and capital, that enable the US
Army and US Air Force to meet mandates and goals. As an Energy
Storage Systems Engineer, your goal will be to provide technical and project
advice for alternative energy storage technologies and components and their
integration in energy solutions, identifying and helping address technical
issues related to specific energy projects. You will function as the subject
matter expert for evaluation and implementation of energy storage in multiple
projects.
Key
Responsibilities:
The
Energy Storage Systems Engineer will help the client design and deliver solutions
in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment - translating ideas into action
bringing an innovative mindset, experience in consulting on DOD programs, and a
desire to provide trusted advice to clients and stakeholders. The qualified
candidate will support the following activities:
Makes recommendations for incorporating energy storage opportunities in projects with a renewable generation asset. Provides engineering design support and addresses all technical project requirements involving energy storage systems.Provides systems engineering to specify renewable energy requirements and identifies issues and approaches for integration with distribution and transmission grid systems. Works closely with renewable system engineer(s) to develop layout, output, O&M, and interconnection requirements.Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.Performs risk assessments and analyses employing modeling and simulation techniques.
Basic
Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s
or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an ABET
accredited university.
·Minimum
ten (10) years’ experience working cradle to grave, managing all aspects of the
development and design and specification of multiple large-scale renewable and
alternative energy resilience projects to include:
oLarge-scale
(>2 MW) energy storage infrastructure and battery energy storage systems,
utilizing lithium-ion, redox-flow (e.g. fuel cell) and zinc-hybrid battery technologies.
·Strong
interpersonal skills to provide leadership to, collaborate and work with
diverse team.
·Strong
communication skills to clearly and succinctly provide recurring and ad-hoc
project updates and synthesizing information for key decision briefs.
Preferred
Qualifications:
·A
Professional Engineering License is desired, but not required.
·Located
in Washington DC Metro Area.
·Knowledge
of US Army and/or US Air Force structure and operations.
