SUMMARY: The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining PBL’s laboratory and office facilities, currently including 15,000 square feet of office, biotech wet lab, and storage space. This is a hands-on position responsible for coordinating and performing facility and equipment maintenance and repair, planning for facility and equipment purchases and obsolescence, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. The Facilities Manager determines appropriate corrective actions and enlists contractors or in-house personnel to address facility and equipment emergencies and other repairs.

• Coordinates and performs day-to-day facility and equipment maintenance and repair
• Coordinates and performs maintenance and repair of IT, temperature monitoring, telephone, and security systems
• Identifies opportunities for preventive maintenance
• Maintains inspection and repair records
• Designs company safety program and performs safety program initiatives
• Plans facility and equipment procurement due to growth as well as obsolescence
• Coordinates facility and equipment purchases
• Plans and oversees facility renovations
• Oversees facility cleaning service provider
• Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with current and potential vendors and contractors
• Additional duties and projects as required or assigned

Job Requirements
• 5+ years’ experience maintaining a facility, preferably a biotech laboratory
• Willingness to do what it takes to ensure that the facility and equipment are operational at all times
• Ability and willingness to be hands-on with facility and equipment repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, IT, and other facility systems
• Ability to understand and ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and local building codes
• Ability to understand contracts, blueprints and floor plans
• Experience overseeing contractors
• Must possess a strong ethic, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency and responsiveness
• Sound written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Must be able to work independently and work well with all levels of staff
• Proficiency with MS Office
