Key Responsibilities:
Design, analysis, modeling, assembly, and validation of mechanical systems and subsystemsCreating of concept and detailed solid models and assemblies as well as prototype and production release technical drawings and data packagesProper use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) on part and assembly drawingsHand calculations and computer FEA, to support product development and detailed designManufacturing process simulation and cost modelingTest and evaluation of products and systems for analytical model validation and/or qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience OR Master's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering with a minimum of 0-2 years of experience.Very experienced in analysis of complex systems using finite element analysis (FEA) packages (Ansys/Abaqus preferred) including: ​Highly nonlinear analysis with plasticity and contactApplication of shock, blast, and vibration loadingExperience with low and high cycle fatigueHeat transfer and thermodynamicsUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and numerical simulation of them including: ​Open and closed die metal forming, extruding, and bendingWelding, distortion, shrinkage, and heat treatmentSimulation based design of tooling, dies, and manufacturing processesCoupled physics including structural/thermal and fluid/structuralAbility to develop, document and communicate requirements, simulation plans, results, and recommendations ​Trade studies, system optimization and weight reduction analysesDesign of Experiments (DOE), data reduction and data analysisAnalysis documentation for product qualification, structural integrity, and aerospace flight clearanceManufacturing systems development and cost modelingExperience with analytical model validation, material characterization, and product qualification testingCAD proficiency with complex parts and assemblies (PTC Creo preferred)Hands on mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsExperience with prototyping, metal working, manufacturing, and/or production systems preferredExcellent computer skills, including experience creating internal and external briefs, presentations, cost benefit analyses, and technical engineering documentation to support product and manufacturing system designs

Job Requirements

o Analysis documentation for product qualification, structural integrity, and aerospace flight clearance
o Manufacturing systems development and cost modeling

• CAD proficiency with complex parts and assemblies (PTC Creo preferred)
• Hands on mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
