CTC is
seeking a Renewable Energy Systems Engineer – Solar r to support Department of
Defense clients with a portfolio focused delivery of energy
security/resiliency projects, leveraging private-sector resources and capital,
that enable the US Army and US Air Force to meet mandates and goals. As
a Renewable Energy Systems Engineer – Solar, you will be the subject
matter expert for evaluation of all potential renewable energy technology (e.g.
solar photovoltaic, wind, geothermal, hydro, biomass) and primary designer of
solar photovoltaic project opportunities.
Key
Responsibilities:
The
Renewable Energy Systems Engineer – Solar will help the client design and
deliver solutions in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment - translating
ideas into action bringing an innovative mindset, experience in consulting on
DOD programs, and a desire to provide trusted advice to clients and
stakeholders. The qualified candidate will support the following activities:
Provides engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, requirement development, analysis and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.Performs risk assessments and analyses employing modeling and simulation techniques.Provide recurring and ad-hoc project updates and synthesizing information for key decision briefs.Contributes to Installation Energy Plans and participates in a range of related studies and analyses.Provides leadership, collaborates, and works with diverse team.
Basic
Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s
or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from
an ABET accredited university.
·Minimum
ten (10) years’ experience working cradle to grave, managing all aspects of the
development and design and specification of multiple large-scale solar
photovoltaic energy projects to include:
oDesign
and specification of multiple large-scale (>2MW) renewable energy projects
utilizing solar photovoltaic technology.
oConducting
site investigations to ensure complete awareness of energy infrastructure,
energy load and assessment of potential threats and vulnerabilities to energy
assets.
oAssessing
condition of energy infrastructure, such as age, quality, quantity and
vulnerability.
·Should
possess a Professional Engineering License.
·Collaborating
with customers to identify the critical systems and determine critical
load.Capability to independently
initiate and manage tasks, with a high degree of detail and process
orientation.
·Ability
to manage and work in teams, and establish and maintain cross-functional and
working relationships.
·Willingness
and ability to set priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a heavy
workload setting.
·Excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal.
·Proficient
with Microsoft Office Suite of tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
·Strong
interpersonal skills to provide leadership to, collaborate and work with
diverse team.
·Strong
analytical skills to assess viability of potential renewable and alternative
energy resilience project opportunities, as part of a team of engineers and
finance professionals.
Preferred
Qualifications:
·Located
in Washington DC Metro Area.
·Knowledge
of US Army and/or US Air Force structure and operations.
