Position Summary
The Program Director manages and supervises the vocational educational training and career services programs of the Workforce Development area of service and is responsible for screening and selection of program participants, coordinating client flow, tracking client participation, and the delivery of training, job placement, and retention services. The Program Director also assists with the daily operations: scheduling, communicating with partner organizations and vendors, collecting data and drafting reports related to the programs.
Some of the duties include:
- Manage and supervise the Vocational Education Programs and Career Services
- Serve as Clients Rights Officer for Workforce Development program participants
- At the discretion of the Vice President, Monitor Director of Trade School and primary contact for State Board of Career Colleges; Serve as Chief Administrative Officer and primary contact for Council on Occupational Education.
- Monitor continued validation of program by the American Culinary Federation; pursue further opportunities for accreditation/validation.
- Monitor the development of new curriculums, certificate programs, and degree programs
- Create yearly staff and educational calendars for the training programs, including staff training and professional development days;
- Provide input on annual program work plan and create and edit reports for internal and external use
- Lead on grant/contract reporting, and coordinate with AFS for financial reports
- Manage program budgets and control expenses of Vocational Education and Career Services areas
- Attend new inmate orientation, reentry fairs, and summits at NERC or ODRC as needed, work with Development and Communications prior to events
- Assist with planning of social enterprises that support the growth and development of new training opportunities
- Assist in strategizing and development of a statewide C4C expansion, including recruitment and program
- Coordinate with collaborators, partner organizations, including attending meetings or trainings as required
Qualifications
Our Ideal candidate possess a bachelor’s degree in business, experience in vocational education, job training or employment services. Proven track record of developing and implementing start up projects/businesses. A working knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of poverty and barriers faced by persons experiencing homelessness; unemployed/underemployed; current or previous involvement in the criminal justice system; and with mental health or addiction histories. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and proof of insurance required.
